Description

Falu Vapen Knut & lining is an emulsion paint based on alkyd oil. The paint is specially developed for painting knotty and lining timber and to match facades painted with full-matt paints such as Falu Fasad. Adheres to most substrates. Falu Vapen Knut & lining can be broken into several colors. Consult your paint dealer. The paint is registered in the BASTA system, which means that we can confirm that this product meets the BASTA criteria regarding environmental and health hazardous properties.

Area of application

Exterior painting on window lining, knotty boards, wind boards, etc.

Pretreatment

New or factory-primed wood and pressure-impregnated wood: Remove all possible dirt and dust. It is best not to paint on completely fresh pressed wood. Previously painted surfaces with Falu Vapen Knut and lining, oil paint or glazes: Brush off all loose paint. Scrape off thick layers. A thorough examination should be made to see if there are any defects. Above all, it should be examined for the influence of moisture. Soft rotted wood should be replaced and gray weathered wood removed. Brush off all dust with a soft brush. Use suitable respiratory protection. Wash the surfaces with facade cleaner and rinse thoroughly with water. Be sure to ensure that the wood is completely dry before painting, with a maximum moisture content of 17%. If there is a risk of mold spores: Treat the surfaces first with a mold inhibitor. Then rinse thoroughly with water.

Painting

Stir the paint well from the beginning and from time to time during the work. It is advisable to paint with a paint brush for best results. Apply one to two coats for full coverage. The first coat can be done with slightly thinned paint. Paint thinly and work the paint in well. Wait at least 24 hours between coats. Cover details on the house that are not to be painted with plastic. Leave the protection in place until the paint is fully waterproof.
