Lawns with meadow grass and red vein require more maintenance in terms of vertical cutting, dressing and fertilizing.

Suitable for sowing throughout the country and has good winter hardiness. NOTE! If the lawn is constantly cut down to 6 mm, the meadow grass will disappear.

Tips & Advice

For successful grass establishment, basic fertilization is very important. For sandy soil, we recommend NPK 11-5-18, 10 kg/100 m2 and on topsoil 5 kg/100 m2. After the grass has established, it should be fertilized at least 3 times/year with e.g. NPK 20-3-9 or NPK 15-2-5 +10Fe. Irrigation is also of great importance, we recommend about 30 min/irrigation point, 2 – 3 times/day. Water the first 8 days after sowing.

Content & properties

77% Red fescue (Festuca rubra). One of the most important grass species for establishing lawns. Contains special red fescue varieties developed to, among other things, achieve lower height growth. Red fescue tolerates sun, heat, cold and drought well and therefore thrives well throughout Sweden.

20% Meadow grass (Poa pratensis) A very common grass species for establishing lawns. Has the best wear characteristics, good winter hardiness and high tolerance to diseases. Has a growth habit with underground runners. Requires good access to nutrients and water.

3% Red fescue (Agrostis cappilaris L.). Is a low-growing grass with good winter hardiness. The blades grow upright and form both above and below ground runners. Red fescue has a high shoot density that produces soft and dense lawns. Does well in dry conditions, but requires intensive care to form a dense and beautiful lawn.
